Kenneth E. Rhoden, Esquire
Ken is a native Floridian born and raised in the Jacksonville area. He moved to Brevard County in 1975 and, other than law school at Florida State University, has resided here ever since. 2021 marks thirty-five years serving as an attorney and now also fifteen years as a business owner and partner/owner in a formerly large firm. He brings to this practice of law his extensive litigation experience from hundreds of trials in the areas of family law, civil law, and criminal law. Ken has a strong reputation in the community for professional, ethical, and relentless representation of his clients. He is also among the few attorneys in the area with the courtroom experience necessary to be a capital crimes attorney.
Ken is part of a large family including brothers, a sister, nieces, nephews, his own children, and grandchild. The family enjoys big holidays together and often the gatherings are at his and Bonnie’s home. Ken is an avid runner, has been a member of Space Coast Runners and participates in events put on by the local favorite: Running Zone. Ken and his wife enjoy traveling and especially like to visit Key West, Sanibel/Captiva, and New Orleans. If you ever have a chance to visit these locations give a call and either Ken or Bonnie will give you their top-secret travel tips for each city!
Ken can also help you with veteran’s issues such as: dissolution of marriage, custody, and alimony (especially modification of alimony at military retirement) and has served members of the military often in his career. ,
Bonnie Klein Rhoden, Esquire
Ms. Rhoden is a transplanted northerner born in Philadelphia and moving to Brevard for her father’s job with Harris Corporation in 1977. She is the youngest of four adopted children and claims her mother is a saint. Bonnie attended Gemini Elementary, Hoover Jr. High, and MCC, finally graduating from Melbourne High. Bonnie graduated Summa Cum Laude from the prestigious Florida Institute of Technology with a psychology major and business minor. (She has since returned to FIT to teach Introduction to Law to undergrad students. Serving as an adjunct Professor was a role she truly enjoyed.) Bonnie proceeded to law school where she graduated among the favorites in her class with an eye on family law and elder issues. She consistently uses her education and experience to better understand how opposing parties behave and how to elicit the best result possible during negotiations and litigation.
Bonnie spent over 20 years working in the private sector owning several businesses, such as an answering service and a temporary employment placement service, serving in various roles at the AAA National Headquarters, and working locally for a large credit union. Early in her law career Bonnie worked with a local firm where her husband served as a partner/owner. Then the Rhodens branched out to create Rhoden Law Group, a boutique, custom firm, to serve the community with legal services in new and modern ways. Bonnie found the antiquated methods older attorneys use to manage client work and firm processes in need of changes. People need access to their lawyer not 4 layers of assistants to have a conversation; they need information to make a decision who to retain not a quickie consult with an immediate request for payment; and people do not need to pay the legal equivalent of “shipping & handling” in the form of Administrative Fees to pad the pockets of firm owners. Rhoden Law Group is changing these preconceived methods and providing bold, modern, flexible service to clients every day. To Bonnie’s credit her wide background gives her a deep well of experience to draw upon in legal negotiations, the courtroom, and in
situations involving complex finances.
Bonnie is close to her family with her healthy almost 90 year old parents living nearby in Viera, a brother in Orlando, a sister in Texas, and nieces, nephews, stepchildren, and godchildren spread around the U.S.
The Rhodens have a rescue poodle, Phinneas and many weekends you’ll find Bonnie working in their yard. Her project for the summer of 2021 was personally planting 21 areca palms and beginning a plumeria garden with 12 new cuttings, oh – and mulch, bags and bags of mulch spread in their garden! Ask her about Phinneas and she’ll fill you in on all the rescue pups she’s worked with through the years; Ask about her work with at-risk youth in the community and she’ll introduce you to Neighbor Up a great local organization; And if you have time she may have some fun stories of growing up in here in Brevard County.
Read some of Bonnie’s Google Reviews on her personal business page; more reviews for her on the former firm’s google page; and on the AVVO.com lawyer review site where she is currently rated 10 of 10. Bonnie was also chosen as one of Florida’s Legal Elite and is rated by Super Lawyers as a top attorney
in the area.
